This is a fully executed Villa project all MEP & HVAC work done by our team.
MEP stands for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing. These are the three critical systems that work together to make a building functional and comfortable. HVAC, on the other hand, refers specifically to Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. HVAC is a subset of the overall MEP system.
1. Plumbing Function: Deals with the design, installation, and maintenance of systems that bring clean water into a building, remove wastewater, and sometimes manage storm water drainage.
Components: Pipes, fixtures (sinks, toilets, bathtubs), water heaters, sewage treatment systems (in some cases).
MEP Project Focus Ensuring adequate water supply for consumption, sanitation, and fire protection. Also involves proper drainage to avoid water damage and maintain hygiene.
2. Electrical Function: Designs and oversees the installation of electrical systems that provide power, lighting, communication, and safety features within a building.
Components Electrical panels, wires, conduits, lighting fixtures, generators (backup power), communication systems (low-voltage wiring for phones, data).
MEP Project Focus: Meeting the building's power needs for appliances, lighting, and equipment. Ensuring proper safety measures like grounding and surge protection. May also integrate smart building technologies.
3. Firefighting Function: Designs and implements fire safety systems to detect, suppress, and control fires within a building, protecting occupants and the structure.
Components: Fire alarm systems, sprinklers, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, fire dampers in ventilation systems.
MEP Project Focus: Complying with fire safety codes. Creating a system that effectively detects and extinguishes fires while ensuring safe evacuation routes.
